A bespoke oak carport was created to enhance a modern new build setting, bringing together contemporary style and traditional oak craftsmanship. Standing at an impressive 3m in height, it makes a striking feature while offering practical, long-lasting covered parking.
Project Value: £15,000 –20,000 Main Contractor: Short Construction
Client Requirements
The client required an oak carport that would suit the clean lines of the development while providing generous, reliable parking for residents. Key requirements included:
– A strong visual statement to complement the 3 new build homes
– A 3-bay oak frame carport, providing parking for residents across the development
– A structure supplied in kit form for efficient on-site installation by existing trades on site
– High-quality oak and traditional joinery for durability and authenticity
Our Solution
Our team designed and supplied a 3-bay oak frame carport, manufactured from high quality European oak for strength, stability, and natural character. The frame was produced in kit form, making installation straightforward for the main contractor, Short Construction, and supporting a smooth, well-organised build on site.
Traditional mortise and tenon joints were used throughout, ensuring a robust structure with timeless oak frame detailing
Result
The completed oak frame carport delivers a standout feature for the development, offering secure covered parking for residents of all three new build homes. With its 3m height, premium European oak and classic jointing, the finished structure is both impressive and built to last—perfectly balancing modern living with traditional craftsmanship.
OAK FRAMING PROCESS
We care about the timber frame design and build process that comes from our European oak.
The oak starts its journey when the acorn germinates and produces that spark of life. We start from the planting of the seedling, through the nurturing, growth and selection of the oak tree, to its harvesting, cutting, planing and manufacturing to produce the desired effect.
