An oak gazebo for an outdoor seating and games area for the client’s luxury property in Eccleston ✨
Project Value: £10,000 – £20,000
Client Requirements
This client came to us looking for a large oak framed gazebo, to serve as a outdoor seating and games room for their newly-renovated home. The visual appeal of the frame was the most important factor, to ensure it complemented the beautifully landscaped garden.
Our Solution
Working closely with the client and landscape designers, a detailed design was developed. Key considerations included:
– Timber Selection: High quality green oak, from managed European forests, was chosen to ensure no negative environmental impact was caused by this project.
– Joinery Techniques: Traditional mortise and tenon joints reinforced with oak pegs provided structural integrity and an authentic aesthetic.
– Finishing Touches: A high-quality UV-protective finish was applied to the oak to reduce silvering while preserving the wood’s rich tones.
The frame was precision-crafted off-site using traditional and modern machining techniques, allowing for efficient on-site assembly. Seating, lighting, and games area elements were installed, enhancing functionality and ambiance.
Result
The completed gazebo seamlessly blends into the landscaped garden, offering a refined yet inviting outdoor space. The client praised the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability of the structure to elevate the luxury renovation project – and they’ve already used it several times to enjoy evenings with their family and friends!
OAK FRAMING PROCESS
We care about the timber frame design and build process that comes from our European oak.
The oak starts its journey when the acorn germinates and produces that spark of life. We start from the planting of the seedling, through the nurturing, growth and selection of the oak tree, to its harvesting, cutting, planing and manufacturing to produce the desired effect.
